About this Project:

The Highland Auxiliary COVID Service (HACS) , a project of Higland Impact,Churachandpur, is an initiative that is set up with the aim of strengthening the State’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and assisting in its public health interventions. Its role consists primarily in helping ensure an effective grassroot response to bolster community awareness and preparedness, and efficient implementation of State’s response policies.

Community KItchen

Community Kitchen​

The Community Kitchen is a service that provides daily fresh healthy meals to the frontline workers in the Isolation Ward, District Hospital and Covid Care Centres in the District. The meals are prepared by community volunteers who sign up on a rotational basis, and have contributed to the provision of more than 2000+ meals.Add Your Heading Text Here

Quick Response Ambulance

The Community Kitchen is a service that provides daily The Quick Response is a free ambulance service, equipped with an oxygen cylinder and basic first aid, that allows timely medical intervention through the provision of a pick and drop service for those who are deprived of transportation for any medical emergency.

Tele-Medical Consultation and Acton

The Tele-Medical Consultation and Action is a service that provides free tele-medical consultation on COVID-19 related concerns, to relieve the overburdened district health professionals. The HACS team has mobilized a number of qualified doctors and nurses to provide free and timely COVID-related telemedical consultation. This service has contributed to the monitoring of over 5000 home isolation patients so far.

In addition, through the set-up of COVID War Room assisted greatly by Sunbird Trust, Highland Group has been at the forefront in the fight against COVID-19 and more crucially in helping Manipur State and various districts in procurement, arrangement, facilitating and support of COVID-19 related material needs. We were able to arrange the following resources: 

  • Highland assisted in the procurement of 44 D-type oxygen cylinders for Churachandpur District, Manipur
  • Under the aegis of the ‘Oxygen Exchange’ platform, Highland helped in the arrangement of 50 BiPAPs (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure) for Manipur State funded by ACT Grants and Swasth Alliance
  • Highland arranged 20 Oxygen concentrators for Churachandpur District donated by Oxygen Exchange India
  • Construction of waiting shed at COVID-19 testing site outside CMO Conference Hall, Churachandpur
  • 17 Oxygen Concentrators and 2000 PPE kits were donated for Churachandpur, Manipur through Every Infant Matters with the support of The Center For Development Initiative
  • Several IEC products like COVID awareness videos on the correct use of Pulse Oxymeter and other SoP guidelines
